Nutrition Is the Key to Having Great Skin

Billions are spent on skin care products each year. These products promise younger, smoother and healthy skin. To be sure, there are exciting skin care breakthrough discoveries made each year, especially in recent years, many of them are effective but only to a certain degree. For no matter what treatments the products claim to help with, it is only just a topical application. This means the product is only applied to the outside of the skin. Youthful, healthy skin happens from the inside out. Having beautiful skin requires more than just slapping on some skin products. In order to have great skin you need to work on getting enough sleep, reducing stress levels, getting regular exercise, UVA/UVB protection and paying close attention to what you eat. We will focus on what you are eating today, for if what you are putting into your body is not clean, vibrant and nutritious, you will not achieve the best results for your skin.Healthy eating is easy, especially if you remember to ask yourself the following two questions when you shop for or prepare each meal:1. Is the majority of the food grown naturally?2. Are there some (naturally) colorful foods in this meal?If you think about the first question - are the majority of foods grown naturally. The kinds of foods that should immediately come to mind would be fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and beans. These foods should be eaten with minimal processing. Processing means food product that is close to being the way it was when it was harvested, for example, not cooked, breaded, fried, covered in cheese).If the majority of your meal is minimally processed, and you add a low fat source of protein, such as fresh seafood, chicken or another lean meat, or if you are vegetarian, beans, nuts or soy products you have the beginning of a great meal. As far as beverages, avoid soft drinks and juices (if you like fruit juice, eat the fruit instead of just drinking the juice) and reduce your sugar intake. These small steps will improve the health of your body from the inside out, achieving and maintaining a youthful and healthy glow will require less effort than you might think.The answer for the second question - are there colorful foods, is also easy. Just to be clear, we are not talking about food coloring. For help visualizing, below are a few colors from the rainbow and the effects those colors have on our health and skin.Red Foods are rich in lycopene, a proven antioxidant that helps fight cancer and aging. Lycopene aids in protecting cells from damage and help it repair itself, fighting off the effects of pollution and stress. Red Food Choices: Red peppers, tomato, apples, strawberries, lean red meats, salmon, cherries, watermelon, guava and pink grapefruit.Orange and Yellow foods are rich in beta-carotene (a form of Vitamin A) and Vitamin C. Foods of this color help protect your vision, immune system and the integrity of the skin by helping the skin produce collagen. Collagen is basically the structural support of the skin, it helps the skin maintain resiliency and assists with wound healing. Orange and Yellow Food Choices: Oranges, tangerines, carrots, sweet potato, pumpkin, orange peppers, mango, cantaloupe, peaches, papaya, apricots, Bananas, squash, yellow peppers, mango, grapefruit, corn, pears, onion and grapefruit.Green foods are rich in minerals and Vitamins, including Vitamin A, B and C. These foods will keep your skin soft and supple, preventing dry and flaky skin. Green Food Choices: Leafy greens, broccoli, herbs (basil, parsley, dill, mint), kiwi, brussel sprouts, asparagus, spinach, kale, green apples and green tomatoes.Blue, Indigo and Violet foods are rich in antioxidants and nutrients, including Vitamin A, lutein, and resveratrol. They help protect the skin on a cellular level against inflammation, aid in digestion and boost the immune system. Blue/Indigo and Violet Food choices: Blueberries, black currants, plums, grapes Blackberries, dried plums (prunes), eggplant, raspberries, raisins, elderberries, pomegranates, Purple Belgian endive, purple potatoes, purple asparagus, purple cabbage, purple figs.As you can see from these examples, the foods you eat have a tremendous effect on your skin and overall health. Indeed, it is like medicine. Eating natural colorful foods in combination with a good skincare routine, will give you fantastic skin (and fantastic hair and fantastic nails!). Yoga and Exercise for Therapy and Prevention of Cervical Spondylosis

The human neck has a natural backward curve, however, due to activities like watching TV, chatting, reading, etcetera, we tend to bring forward the curve of the neck causing pressure to its joints. Moreover, faulty posture, using thick pillows, habitual reading and watching television in a lying position, mental tension, and lack of exercise contribute to the further wearing and tearing of neck joints. When the substance that cushions the vertebrae is lost due to the above-mentioned activities or old-age, a condition called cervical spondylosis is experienced. Moving the neck and shoulders can be very painful and even the movement of arms, hands, legs and feet may be disturbed by shocks and weakness. Aside from other medical treatments that include surgery, yoga is said to relieve and prevent cervical spondylosis.There are certain Yoga exercises which have been studied to relieve and even prevent cervical spondylosis. There is a need, however, to emphasize that some Yoga exercises will need the help of an instructor especially if you have not tried Yoga before. Included here, however, are three of the simplest exercises.Neck exercise in Yoga involves sitting with your neck and back straight with your fists rolled into balls under the chin with the thumb inside. Use your fists (still closed with thumbs inside) to lift your chin while inhaling. Keep your fists under your chin, looking straight then exhale. Repeat it three to four times. You can also rub your fists and massage the neck while breathing.Another exercise studied to relieve and prevent cervical spondylosis is shoulder rotation. Familiar, isn't it? You just need to sit with your neck and back straight. Place your hands on your shoulders and rotate them in wide circles while maintaining natural course of breath. Repeat from seven to ten times front to back and vice versa. For a more synchronized shoulder rotation, inhale when bringing the elbows up and exhale when bringing them down.Lastly, we have Tadasana or whole body stretching. Stand straight with feet parted slightly. Inhale, and then raise your arms above you head. Intertwine your fingers making the palm face the sky. Exhale, and then place your hand on your head. Repeat the first step while raising your heels a little above the ground. Exhale and bring them down slowly. Repeat three to five times.A lot of studies have been done to prove the effectiveness of Yoga and exercise. In fact, if you check health tips or even consult a physician, they will always tell you to exercise and keep an active lifestyle. Habitual exercise or Yoga prevents not only cervical spondylosis, but also a lot of other diseases.

A major concern in food and restaurant business is the existence of cockroaches, mice, mouse and other pests that may affect the health of the customers and employees as well. Presence of pests can greatly push away existing customers and may give you a failing mark from health department. It is very vital for restaurants and other food business to regularly seek pest control services and maintain a pest-free business.Aside from calling professional help, you can also follow the steps to eliminate the pests in your restaurant:
Inspection. This is the first step wherein you should know where the pests are hiding and traveling. This can help you focus on areas where you should apply pesticides. Like with any other pest control, proper sanitation is the answer to issues regarding flies. Ensure that all areas are clean and remove breeding sites of flies to completely eliminate them.
Sealed trash cans, floor and surface tiles, sink, areas under and behind furniture and equipments.
There are different kinds of flies; they are the fruit flies, drain flies, phorid flies, vinegar flies, blow flies and the most ordinary house flies. Each type of fly may have different treatment the steps in eliminating them are all the same.
Controlling flies begin with preventing them to get inside your restaurant. Ensure that there is no garbage can outside your establishment and make sure that doors and windows are always close. Put fly baits near garbage and trash cans.

Keep drains and sink always clean as they are the most common fly breeding sites. Use insecticides near food area to avoid fruit flies. Make sure that the insecticides will not harm the foods and kitchen utensils in your restaurant.
How to get rid of rodents in your business:Rats and mouse can let themselves in through tiny holes and cracks.
Seal all holes and other entry points where rat may pass by.
Keep surrounding clean and tidy especially the kitchen area where foods are kept and cooked.
Place mouse traps and baits to catch and kill mouse. Place them where rats are found.
